A too boyish, youthful, charmed besides a Dynamic and energetic leader of our friend Circle, Abrar Riyaz, got seriously injured few days back in a seriously injured in a deadly, however fierce Accident while returning towards home, Shopian after a Doctor’s appointment for his father at SKIMS, after the Car in which they were traveling meet a head to head collision at Pampore Highway. Abrar’s uncle, syed Wasiq, my friendly uncle died on a way to hospital. Just after two days, My brother Abrar too left to heavenly abode, However Abram’s father is still in an uncomfortable position as is hanging in position for the life in a Paralyzed state. First, after 3 days, the fact is only an unbelievable for me, for his family, and for the youthful generation of our little Town. He has created a deep pain Void among us. This is a pathetic fact we are being asked to, as completely implausible and astonishing.

The tragedy was like same and equivalent for both strangers unknown to him and his zealots. When even strangers feel a personal loss over a certain unknown human departure, You can easily get a reflection of the level of hardcore affliction as was bruised calamity for us.

The loss is multitudinous and immeasurable to bear which will Wallahi haunt and obsess us every time, every single second of our life. As every time his grave is just at our eyes. This nincompoop unbelievable fact will destroy us. We are going to watch him everyday though dead and not living, like he was with us.

As indenting, Abrar had just lived the 24 summers of his life, The Piping hot seasons during his fleeting lifetime had shaped him as a poised person who wielded wit and wisdom as his Panoply.
From the very boyish age, Abrar wasn’t basking in his own success for nothing. Bereft of rage and brimming with reason, he had shown a courage to emerge as a reckoning and dynamic voice from Shopian. The Abrar’s loss wasn’t just a Tragedy but a Calamity for Kashmir.

Coming on the studies curriculum and literature scope, Abrar, after passed his tenth Class with a greater 90 percentile, joined the course of Deptt of Legal Studies at Central University of Kashmir, bringing Laurel’s and presenting Central University at certain national at international events. The international event at Nuremberg, Germany was worth remembering and Abrar was often comparing the wale and pain of Kashmir with the secular freedom spot Germany. His team got the Laurel of second position in the competition, in which universities from more than 60 countries participated.

He was having a deep knowledge related to his field, A grass craving for his Subject.
Besides this, Abrar’s roaring mechanic voice and growing literary mind in his rocketing pen. He was a prolific intellectual and a budding writer, witnessing his pain and wale for the sufferings in Kashmir, contributing for many media outlets.

Remembering the Angry Face of Abrar and the party on getting my first write-up published by Kashmir Reader. Abrar was always dreaming for the adventurism and trekking. Meanwhile at extreme, Abrar will be in our hearts always.

THE CURIOUS CASE TURNED , THE BLATANT VIOLATION

Though a fact, Abrar had not even dreamt of his end like such. Strange and sudden. When Abrar got injured, he was immediately rushed to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment as he was having serious head injuries, after emergency he was referred to Critical Care, better prevalence in such cases. After a day when Abrar started showing some little normal balancing of his body the joy was Crystal clear at the young faces with him at Super specialty.
Arif yousuf, gracious, the 2 year room mate with Abrar at University rents at Ganderbal was in deep noose, patiently waiting for Abrar to see him again in his good position, weeping and wailing continuously.
Salim and Yasir were hopeful and courageous as they believe Abrar will never let us cry, never let us die with him.
Though not at hospital, but continue calls about his health with returning normalcy was just a carbon and glucose for me.
But it all took a U-turn, a wrong mode however critical for all of us when Abrar was declared Covid Positive by the SMHS administrative block. The Abrar, till then a high-priority grave head injury case who needed and was getting satisfactory neurological intervention, suddenly became untouchable and intangible.
The protocol took precedence over patient-care and common sense.
The one statement from SMHS shattered all the recovery dreams of Abrar Riyaz by his family and friends when Doctors told them that since SMHS didn’t treat COVID-19 patients, they had to shift Abrar to a COVID hospital, which is not even a super-specialty hospital for such patients. Abrar’s friends and relatives there tried a lot, every single step to convince the doctors to shift Abrar to SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, instead of CD hospital, which is both a Covid designated hospital and has better neurosurgery facilities.

Surprising was Doctors too at SMHS claimed that Abrar should ideally have been shifted to the SKIMS.
It was such a quick move, everyone remained baffled what was going on.

Prof Saima Rashid told a Srinagar based local daily that, SKIMS had refused to admit him citing “non-availability” of beds. Everyone was amazed how Abrar would receive proper medical attention at CD hospital, which, one, has no in-house neurosurgery department, and two, “Abrar had Sub-Dural Hematoma (SDH) with Diffuse Axonal Injury which has mortality of 30 to 50% and Covid has mortality of 2 to 5% . What should have been given precedence?”

According to Nisar A Dharma, a journalist who visited Abrar in hospital. What was this mindset and reflective thought by Doctor’s, which coasted a glowing flower, The charming Son from the lap of his mother, the heart of his friend circle, the flying bird of his Society and besides my friend.
This incidence totally showed how serious the doctors(front liners) are.

Abrar could’ve been easily saved, if treated properly, his wailing friend Arif was continually asking.
Boys like him are our assets. Their untimely demise is our collective loss.

May my brother Abrar find peace there and be granted highest place in jannah!
