Srinagar: Two unidentified militants have been killed in an ongoing operation by security forces in Srigufwara village in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The security forces launched a cordon and search operation after getting inputs about the presence of militants, a joint team of Army’s 34RR (Rashtriya Rifles), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation in Srigufwara village in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.
As the forces were searching the area, the hiding militants fired upon them. The forces retaliated, ensuing an encounter, in which a militant was killed.
Official sources told GMK that, two unidentified militants has been killed so far, while as the identity and affiliation of the duo slain militants was being ascertained.
Meanwhile authorities have suspended internet services in area as a precautionary measure in wake of this encounter.
Till this report was filed, the operation was underway in the area.
