Army man shoots self to death in north Kashmir

Srinagar: An Army soldier allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Monday.

Official sources told that the army man of 226-FU, posted at Boniyar area of Baramulla, shot himself while he was on duty.

Soon after the incident, his colleagues immediately rushed towards the soldier and found him in a pool of blood.

The soldier was rushed to a nearby medical facility where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.

The deceased soldier has been identified as S. Srinivas.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation initiated.
