Army porter killed in cross border firing in Uri

Srinagar: An Army porter was killed on Wednesday in a ceasefire violation by the Pakistan army along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Uri sector, police sources said.

The sources said the Army porter, identified as Altaf Ahmad Jinder, was killed near the Mayan sector of Uri along the LoC.

Preliminary information suggested that the porter was killed as the Pakistan army violated the ceasefire agreement.

A police official said the incident took place in a remote part (Mayan Sector) of the Uri sector.
