The Meteorological Department in Srinagar has predicted rains from February 22 in Kashmir Valley.
A meteorological department official told GMK that temperature in Srinagar, which had recorded a low of minus 0.9°C on the previous night, was minus 2.2 °C below the normal for this time of the year, the official said.
“A spell of light to moderate rain is most likely from Feb 22 to 23,” he said.

He also said light to moderate rains are expected at most places of Kashmir and few places in Kargil district, especially in Zojila area.
Meanwhile, the weatherman has forecasted mainly dry weather over the plains of J&K for now.
