A 15-year-old girl, Afeefa Javaid Bhat, from Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, studying in 11th Class at St. Joseph’s School Baramulla, has penned a poetry book with title “Flawsome,” which indicates embrace limitations of self, whether it may be about your features, weight, Color, diseases or failure.
“Never feel ashamed of that,” if you are having a loads of faults, recognize yourself perfect, never pay attention on those who criticize you on the basis of flaws, keep focus on your goal and learn to love yourself, ” said Afeefa Javaid.
Talking to Good Morning Kashmir, Afeefa says that she had a flair for writing and ever since she was in class 6th she used to write on different topics.
“With the passage of time, I started writing randomly on notebook. Finally I started putting my thoughts on paper through poetry,” she says.
“With the passage of time and support from my family, I started writing poems since 2019,” she said, adding that since then she has penned down hundreds of poems.
“The book revolves around aspects of life like love,” she said.
“I was always encouraged by my parents, other family members, relatives, teachers and friends. And today I wish to thank them for letting me realize that I can do it,” she adds.
Being an introvert, writing for Afeefa is the only way to communicate her ideas, feelings and beliefs. Afeefa credits her success to her parents who she said have helped her in shaping her life irrespective of difficult situations.
Afeefa said that it took her two years to complete her maiden book. The book will be available in all the book stores in the market as well as on Amazon, Flipkart, Kindle and Kobo.
