nhabitants of Tangwari village of north Kashmir;s Baramulla district Tuesday complained that the village was reeling under acute water shortage for past two months.
According to the villagers, this was the worst bout of water scarcity that the village was facing in recent times.
“It is for the first time we are witnessing such a crisis,” Shabir Ahmad of Tangwar Bala exclaimed.
“Whatever the reason for the shortage, the concerned department should have made arrangements for supplying drinking water through tankers but they don’t seem to be concerned,” he said.
The locals alleged that they are facing the shortage of potable water quite often and the authorities are not taking any measures to end the hardships faced by the residents. Adding that they approached AEE Kreeri too many times but he didn’t pay attention to our pleas.
They also added that the water crisis has become one of the major issues in the village.
The locals once again appealed to Deputy Commissioner Baramulla to look into the matter and solve the problem at an earliest.
