In a horrifying incident, a nine- year-old boy was brutally attacked and mauled to death by half-a-dozen street dogs in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, the police said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Saturday afternoon in Pingelan area of the district, police said.
As per the locals, street dogs attacked the boy, Azhar Ahmad, son of Mohammad Maqbool of Pingelan, when he was playing on a field near his house. Locals, as per the official who were nearby, raised an alarm and tried to shoo away the dogs.

“When few locals noticed him being dragged by the dogs. They took him to the nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” he said.
Meanwhile, local residents blamed the authorities for the dog menace.
