Covid-19 is at its peak. The coming 40 days or so would be toughest days, almost every living soul in Kashmir has encountered all their lives. Times are tough. Those who survive this and are out of woods by fall should consider themselves lucky. All educational institutions are closed, businesses are locked and employers are sending employees on forced leaves. What can be more horrible other than to be cooped up in our homes the whole calendar year!
There has been a perception that people in the valley are acting irresponsibly. Roaming without face masks should be considered a grave offence under the current circumstances. But people manage to dodge restrictions and a few are seen wandering aimlessly here and there casually. Despite government using various media channels to broadcast prevention messages it seems to have had little effect.
While the places of worship are closed down for now one can use the places effectively to broadcast information about Covid-19. Since the population in Kashmir is very much attached to their religion and time and again exhibit an unflagging eternal reverence for religious places, why cannot these places be used to broadcast information about Covid-19, how it spreads, what prevention one needs to take, how to deal with a family infected with the virus and what precautions to take while burying a Covid-19 positive patient.

People accept with humility the lessons which are taught from the pulpit. Without the assemblage of people in places of worship the government can broadcast the messages through the Public Address System. This can help establishment to bust certain groundless conspiracy theories.
Covid-19 demands we use all over collective intelligence to put forward innovative methods to defeat Covid-19. We must do it. It is the need of the hour.
