Last week on social media, Kevin Ford went viral for a gift his employer gave him after 10 years of ideal attendance. Kevin Ford, an employee of Burger King, has got over $199,000 in donations from after a clip of a goodie bag he collected on his 27th work anniversary got viral on social media. As per the video shared earlier this month,
Ford has served as a chef and cashier at a Burger King in the Las Vegas McCarran International Airport for 27 years without skipping one day. He got a Starbucks cup, few candy and a single movie ticket in a transparent plastic backpack from the burger chain’s parent company, to demonstrate respect for his years of employment.Although the 54-year-old admired the gift, Ford spoke to TMZ that he felt what he got didn’t quite estimate up to the financial gifts employees obtained prior to the pandemic. Online, social media users denounced the gift bag as normal and not suiting to express respect for an employee of almost 30 years decades.
After the flow of backing on social media, Ford’s daughter Seryna prep a GoFundMe page to acknowledge her father’s commitment to his job. She wrote, “Myself Seryna. The man in that video clip is my dad. He has worked at his job for 27 years, and yes, he has never skipped a day of job. My dad proceeds to work here because though
he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and vacating would amount to him his retirement. In no way are we pleading for money or is he foreseeing any wealth, but if anyone thinks like honoring him, he would wish to visit his grandchildren.
So awesome talking to Kevin Ford.
After working at Burger King for 27 years – without missing one day of work – they gave him a candy goody bag.
But the internet wasn’t happy about that – and has raised $141,000 so far. He says he’ll use the money for his grandkids college. pic.twitter.com/iV4cCgHbTN
