ammu and Kashmir on Wednesday reported 195 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 49 from Jammu division and 146 from Kashmir division, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 129031.
Moreover, 92 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 23 from Jammu Division and 69 from Kashmir Division.
According to the official Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 129031 positive cases, 1983 are Active Positive, 125535 have recovered and 1983 have died; 732 in Jammu division and 1251 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 5830758test results available, 5701727 samples have been tested as negative till 24thMarch, 2021.
Till date 1454052 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 29513 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1513 in isolation and 125175in home surveillance. Besides, 1295868 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar reported 77 cases including 23 travelers, Baramulla 29, Budgam 16, Pulwama 2, Kupwara 15, Anantnag 3, Bandipora 1, Ganderbal 2, Kulgam 1, Shopian 0, Jammu 35 (4 travelers), Udhampur 0, Rajouri 2, Doda 1, Kathua 2, Samba 2, Kishtwar 1, Poonch 3, Ramban 2, and Reasi 1.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 meter from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.
As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
