Coronavirus: JK reports 523 new positive cases, tally crosses 17,000 mark

Srinagar: Eighty-eight travelers were among 523 new Coronavirus infections in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, taking the overall tally past 17000-mark in JK.

According to officials, 09 COVID-19 deaths have also been reported; 01 from Jammu division and 08 from Kashmir Division.

Moreover, 300 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 41 from Jammu Division and 259 from Kashmir Division.

The government handout said that out of 570508 test results available, 553203 samples have been tested as negative till July 25, 2020.

Additionally, till date 350946 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 43332 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 12 in Hospital Quarantine, 7483 in hospital isolation and 40852 under home surveillance. Besides, 258962 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Bandipora has 591 positive cases (including 30 cases reported today) with 187 Active Positive, 396 recovered (including 09 cases recovered today) and 08 deaths; Srinagar has 3793 positive cases (including 145 cases reported today) with 2189 Active Positive, 1518 recovered (including 40 cases recovered today), 86 deaths; Anantnag district has 1151 positive cases (including 20 cases reported today) with 402 Active Positive, 728 recovered (including 07 cases recovered today), 21 deaths; Baramulla has 1758 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today) with 587 Active Positive, 1108 recovered (including 30 cases reported today), 63 deaths; Shopian has 1363 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 457 Active Positive, 886 recovered and 20 deaths; Kupwara has 1018 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 358 Active Positive, 644 recovered (including 37 cases recovered today) and 16 deaths; Budgam has 1040 positive cases (including 56 cases reported today) with 408 Active Positive and 611 recovered cases (including 94 cases recovered today) and 21 deaths; Ganderbal has 318 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 163 active positive cases and 149 recoveries (including 08 cases recovered today) and 06 deaths; Kulgam has 1443 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 501 Active Positive and 916 recoveries (including 11 cases recovered today) and 26 deaths and Pulwama reported 1194 positive cases (including 62 cases reported today) with 584 active positive cases and 594 recovered (including 23 cases recovered today) and 16 deaths.

Similarly, Jammu has 823 positive cases (including 66 cases reported today) with 327 active positive cases and 482 recoveries.

According to the officials, out of the total 17305 positive cases in J&K 3832 have been reported as travelers while 13473 as others.
