fter second wave of Covid 19 pandemic has assumed serious proportions, Covid vaccine for the persons above 45 years of age gained momentum with the process going on in full swing at Gousia Hospital Srinagar and other places.
On Sunday today scores of people were given vaccine shots in presence of Director health Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather. He supervised the entire process and directed CMO Srinagar Dr Nighat Majeed, MS Gousia Dr Tahir Jan throughout the day. Dr Asma DIO Kulgam was brought to share her experience during today’s drive as she has first hand experience of working during pandemic for the past one year.
Various people who received the first shot of the vaccine emphasized the significance of this Immunization Programme to comprehensively combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the doctors as well as locals came forward for the vaccination, director health services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather said that it was good to see people coming forward for vaccine doses, adding that such moves will further instill faith in the effectiveness of the vaccine.
Meanwhile, the MS Gousia Hospital, Dr Tariq Jan urged upon all the stakeholders to cooperate with the administration in carrying out the campaign successfully.
He emphasized for following all the requisite SOPs and guidelines more especially using face masks and maintaining social distancing adding that the threat of infection is still there as the virus has not been completely eradicated.
