ccording to my personal opinion, as a student or maybe as a teenager, I am completely against the notion that social media improves relationships. As it has caused a great difference between relationships. It has strongly made people unaware of each other. People have started ignoring each other. Now according to people, social media, phones and technology has value. Nowadays if we walk on a road, we’ll see everyone carrying a phone or some people even using it while walking. People are addicted to it in such a way that they don’t care what is going around. Recalling olden days made me cry, when there were no mobile phones but there was a type of affection and love for relationships.
This social media has also a great role in the laziness of people .No doubt,it has a lot of advantages but its disadvantages are more. People in ancient times used to visit each other to know about each other which increased the rate of affection and love between the relationships but now these things are also on social media. Visiting each other also used to make the bond of relation strong like the culture of visiting relatives on eid or any other occasion or sharing or borrowing things made the bond of relationship strong.

Borrowing things from each other was a source of giving priority to relationships, not status. In this modern era social media has badly affected relationships. Nowadays, everything is done on mobile phones .Now people hardly talk face-to-face to each other. Now people don’t even call them just text. People are busy in social media upto this level that they don’t know they have time for their family. The sharing of thoughts, views and ideas has completely finished now.
Alike social media jealousy has also been the difference between the people. Golden were the days when the world was full of trust, truth, affection and forgiveness. Nowadays relationships are made like a barter system .The one who visits is visited. It is rightly predicted that one time will come when people will forget their loved ones by thinking that when they don’t think of me why should I? What has happened to us ? Do our sunnahs teach us these things? Like if a relative due to some circumstances was unable to visit us, we even have time. Now for us only social media has value nothing else. We are making new friends on social media and forgetting our old friends. Making new friends is not a big deal but forgetting old ones is. So at last I would say that people should forgive each other because we are the ummah of such a Prophet who used to forgive the enemies even and spend time with each other.
