he major link and inner roads in the Yaikalan area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district are in a dilapidated condition, with locals alleging that the ‘roads have not been macadamized by the authorities for many years,’ causing inconvenience to them.
The aggrieved residents told Good Morning Kashmir that authorities are not paying due attention towards the interior road due to which the people living in the locality are facing inconvenience.
A local Mushtaq Ahmad said that they fail to understand why the concerned department has left the important stretch unattended and added, “despite several requests, their pleas are going unheard”.
Another senior resident of the area said that “during rains they are unable to commute on the stretch of roads that get inundated.”
Expressing strong resentment, they said that this road from Yarikalan is completely in a dilapidated condition for the years due to which the people of the area are facing a lot of inconvenience.
Last time Good morning Kashmir contacted the concerned AEE and he then assured that work will start soon however it has been two months and nothing has been done on ground.
Meanwhile, the locals urged the district administration Budgam to help resolve their genuine grievance as soon as possible.
