s of now, the world is facing the highest state of anxiety, depression, mental disorder, and stress. These are the large health issues globally. Depression is a severe mental illness that can interfere with a person’s life. It can cause long-lasting and severe feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities. Data shows that the total estimated number of people living with depression globally increased by 18.4% between 2005 and 2015.
If a person doesn’t adopt guidelines, then there are more chances of getting involved in many unethical activities. Many innocent children and youth who are suffering from this trauma couldn’t explain their parents to understand their issues. Adolescence is a period of change between childhood and adulthood. During this delicate phase of transition, adolescents are particularly vulnerable to a wide range of temptations due to the physical, psychological, and emotional changes they experience. In general, this transformational period is characterized by risk-taking and excessive behavior, an attraction to unknown things, and by the desire to experiment.
Mental illness is one of the major contributors to disease burden globally; it is the sixth- largest burden worldwide, and this is much more burdensome than HIV.
If these issues are not curbed on time, then it will lead to psychiatric problems or sometimes lead to behaviors like suicide. In this fast modernized life, people are so isolated that they need counseling and care. We are so occupied in our lives to maintain our social status and standard that we neglect our great responsibility towards our offspring and society.

More often, students are very much depressed due to their parent’s pressure; parents impose their choice on children in which a child may have no interest. If they fail to meet their confined expectations, this triggers worthlessness and the need of feeling worthy in return. Thus they engage themselves in the consumption of drugs that release brain chemicals that induce pleasure to the brain. A deception to feel competent by feeling happy and satisfied.
Drug consumers find a satisfying joy in drugs that keep them away from their problems, and thus they avoid their reality. Drugs not only destroy the person's life and character but also destroy the competence of a collective society by becoming heedless to real-time happenings and consequences.
In a nutshell, there is a necessity of an hour to cognizant the new generation about the adverse outcomes of drug addiction. There is a need for a multidimensional and holistic approach to address this dilemma from the source. There is urgency to a synthesis of all the working groups like the religious groups, schools, colleges, and civil society to constitute a wall against this intimidation which has destructed the human community. Awareness programmes should be designed at the Panchayat level in the villages, and the students should be included in the entire process, as they will know about the adverse impact of drug addiction thoroughly.
In the urban areas, the local self-govern institutions should come forward to tackle the problem along with the other groups of the urban areas.
Those areas where this problem is hugely reported should be charted and well monitored by the police and other state agencies, and appropriate programmes should be taken for these areas and focus should be given to the cause of the problem.
