It sought information on interception, monitoring, and decryption through spyware, hacking, or electronic surveillance in India between 2017 and 2021.
The guild’s members and all journalists have the duty of holding all branches of government accountable by seeking information, explanations, and constitutionally valid justifications for state action and inaction, it said.
A Bench led by Chief Justice NV Ramana is scheduled to hear the Pegasus row petitions on Thursday.
Recently, senior journalists N Ram and Sashi Kumar had knocked on the doors of the apex court, challenging the government to come clean about the Pegasus allegations.
Five petitions have been filed so far in the top court on the Pegasus case, including Rajya Sabha member John Brittas and Supreme Court lawyer ML Sharma and social activist Paranjoy Thakurta.
