First batch of COVID-19 vaccine reaches Kashmir

The first batch of COVID-19 vaccine  reached Srinagar, officials said in Wednesday.

Officials said  that they received the first batch of vaccines in Srinagar on Wednesday afternoon.

Vaccination Drive: PM Modi to interact with vaccine recipients at SKIMS Soura, GMC Jammu.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi will interact with vaccine recipients of J&K on 16 January, the day when the COVID19 vaccination drive will commence across India.

The Centre had on Saturday announced that the much-awaited coronavirus vaccination drive will kick off in the country on January 16.

The roll-out of Covid-19 vaccine will give priority to the healthcare and frontline workers who are estimated to be around 3 crore, followed by those above 50 years of age and the under-50 population groups with comorbidities numbering around 27 crore.

According to Government, 3000 people will get the shot on day 1 in the UT.

The Government has finalized 30 sites for starting the vaccination drive in J&K, which include SKIMS Soura, GMC Jammu, and other locations in JK.
