Government forces Saturday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in a village in north Kashmir after receiving inputs about the presence of militants, official sources said.
They said on a tip off about the presence of militants, soldiers from 29 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation at Takiya – Tapper area of district Baramulla.
All exit points were sealed and house to house searches were launched, said a police official.

During the search operation, door to door searches were conducted and the identity cards of the people were checked.
Sources said that the operation was called off after no contact with any militant was established.
