Casualties are feared to be between 100 to 150. The teams of ITBP, SDRF and NDRF have already reached the spot. A red alert has been issued, says Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Om Prakash on the Chamoli incident.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister T.S. Rawat tweeted that the flow of the Alaknanda River ahead of Nandaprayag had stabilised. “The River is flowing one metre above the danger level but the flow is reducing,” he said.
