Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday extended the ban on high-speed mobile internet in the Union Territory till 29 July.
According to the order issued by the Home Department, Jammu and Kashmir government, the internet speed will be restricted to 2G only till 29 July.
“Where as, the restrictions on access to internet services in the above manner have been put in place to curb misuse of data for uploading/ downloading/ circulation of proactive content on the social media, prevent/ reduce rumour mongering, counter attempts of recruiting gullible youth into the terrorist ranks, curtail the use of encrypted messaging and VOIP services for infiltration and coordinating terror activities, and defeat the nefarious designs from across the border to propagate terrorism,” reads the new order.
