Few places in the higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall on Saturday, while the plains were lashed by rains even as the meteorological office said the weather is likely to improve further over the next 12 hours.
Light to moderate snow, with isolated heavy snowfall, were reported from a few places in Kashmir including Zojila, officials said.

The official said that most places in the plains of the valley received rainfall which continued till afternoon.
It is learnt from sources that, Gulmarg has also received fresh snowfall, bringing cheer among the tourists and skiers.
