Srinagar: Police on Thursday claimed to have recovered a large cache of explosions at South Kashmir’s Awantipora .

The police said that a large cache of explosives were dumped in a plastic tanks in Gadikhal – Awantipora area of South Kashmir.
“Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militant of the militant outfit, Jaish-e-Mohammad, security forces including army’s 42 RR, Police, and CRPF conducted a joint search of the nursery area, near forests of the village, Gadikhal Awantipora. During the search, two forest explosives dumps were found, which were concealed underground in two different 250 litres of plastic tanks,” said a police spokesperson.
Consequent upon this, a case FIR number 126/2020 under relevant sections of Unlawful Activity Act has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been taken up, he said.
