truth is that we are not the result of any chance. Everything that happens in our lives has a reason, a time and a learning experience. It is human to seek explanations for everything. We want to understand the end of the relationship, the betrayal of the friend, the death of a loved one. But the truth is that not everything has an explanation and that the reasons why things happen are not always revealed to us.ay what you want, present the most beautiful arguments, and poetize destiny. But the
Although we want to be in control of everything, we need to understand that there are things that run away from it and, generally, are the most important things. Life is not a car that we get in and choose the path taken. In fact (and even though it may sound aggressive), it owes us no explanations at all. Life follows its own path, its own rules and its own reasons. It is up to us the wisdom of accepting and enjoying the trip.
We need to let go of stubbornness and understand that we are unable to accomplish everything at all times and accept that we are human and that life does not need to follow our predetermined roadmap of expectations. Chance is treated as a novel. “To what extent are we responsible for our own destiny?”, “What makes a person drop everything and go somewhere else, learn another language, just to know the life of a stranger? ”Reflections aside and suggestions for explicit reading, let’s return to the theme of our text. It takes a lot of wisdom to understand that the suffering experienced was not in vain.
The birth of the child was not at the wrong time and that love did not come too late. Things happen as they should and when they are scheduled to do so (but please exclude optional events such as betrayals, lies and power games from this list. These attitudes are deviations of character and not tragedies of destiny).Learn from the situations, do your part. There are paths that life will only take us to know, if we are able to sit in the passenger seat.
Say ‘I can’, before saying ‘I want’. Perhaps this phrase seems strange in the face of everything we are accustomed to hear. However, it is important to realize that not everything we want can be done, that we do not always want to be powerful. If we reflect first on whether we can do what we want, reality-based planning can be successful. Volition is not always power. Therefore, we must adapt our goals, value what we have, take risks with our heads, our hearts, and not despair. You can not get everything you want, no matter the intensity of your desire. For this reason, let us try to anticipate what I can of what I want, to realize how this works for us. By this phrase we do not mean that we should accommodate ourselves and not strive for our goals. Of course we should not stop fighting, we can not believe that we are at the top, we must always seek to improve and establish ever greater limits. However, we must have our feet “on the ground”, know our weaknesses and know what I can before saying I want. I will be more capable of the ‘I can’ if I know my limits.
Perhaps our highest quality is to realize our limits and be realistic with it. Unrealistic goals and false positivity are our worst enemies because we think we can go further by simply thinking positive and imagining a wonderful ending, when in fact what we need is to dedicate work, time and motivation to what we want. The limits are personal and non-transferable, as well as adaptable. Maybe my limit today is a certain size, but I need to know that I can get more. Now, I have to think of a formula to achieve this.
More time? More effort? More work? More organization?
Where can I use my strengths? What are the aspects to which I should pay more attention? This work requires the motivation of the “I can”, but also of a personal work of self-knowledge and of my limits. If I do not know how to delimit the territory, I run the risk of failing. When I can set my goals and adapt them to my reality, I have power over them because I make them realistic. This does not mean that I do not need the positivity to get them, but also objective work, “hard” work that makes me face the challenges. But “I can,” because I have the tools to achieve this, it’s up to me.
Believing that positivity is thinking that everything will work out is not real. Positivity implies not thinking negatively, studying the options that remain, not anticipating all the bad things that can happen. Positivity is not ceasing to work and finding the motivation needed to see beyond what we have in the present moment. Positivity gives us the impulse, but it does not make us achieve anything. It is to have the “ON” button on, but we still need to act to achieve what we want. This position gives us nothing; however, it brings us closer to that distant goal or it makes us smile when we believe we have arrived. Positivity, when realistic, is our best mate, but when it comes to excessive optimism, it becomes one of our worst enemies. If we can become aware of our limits, we will be creating our own possibilities and will be able to face the “I want”, but always working from the “I can”. Therefore, the correct, most adaptable and healthy phrase for all could be: wanting is a necessary condition for what I can, just as power is a basic condition for what I want.
