Following an improvement in weather conditions and progress in restoration works, the 270 km-long Jammu-Srinagar national highway was thrown open to fresh traffic on Sunday.
In the morning, LMVs from the Jammu side were allowed towards Srinagar.

Officials said traffic from Jammu was being allowed to come down to Srinagar. Thereafter, up HMVs shall be allowed towards Jammu.
“Priority will be accorded to LMVs,” he said indicating that the movement of fresh traffic towards Srinagar will be allowed soon on the highway.
