Jammu-Srinagar highway to remain closed for vehicular traffic today

The Jammu-Srinagar national highway will remain closed for vehicular traffic today for undertaking repair works, a traffic department advisory said.

A traffic advisory issued said that the vehicular traffic will remain suspended from both sides on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for repair/maintenance of road. “However, the commuters hailing from Doda, Bhadrawah and Kishtwar are advised to cross police check post Jakhani Udhampur till 10am Friday,” it said.

It is worth to mention here that, the decision was taken in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary J&K on October 10.

As per the communique, December 4, 11, 18 and 25 have been kept as traffic dry days to undertake major repairs and maintenance of road surface, sliding zone and shooting stone areas on NH-44.
