ormer minister Javid Mustafa Mir on Monday joined Apni Party (AP) in Srinagar.
Mir, who resigned as president of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) recently, was welcomed by AP chief Syed Altaf Bukhari at party headquarters here. JKPM was a constituent of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD).
“My only concern is to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mir said when asked why he was changing parties after leaving the PDP.
Welcoming Mir to party fold, Bukhari said this will help to pull people of Kashmir out of the mess and to restore their confidence and honour. He claimed that they have met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union minister Amit Shah to apprise them about the suffering of people, who are still in shock after August 5, 2019 developments.
He said AP’s only mission and goal is to restore respectability, honour and dignity of the people.
Bukhari claimed that only three days back we urged Government of India (GoI) and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to undo the 50:50 share in NEET examination. We are thankful to LG as it has been undone now.
He described Mir as his younger brother and expressed hope his experience will further strengthen the party.
