ammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded 835 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 280 from Jammu division and 555 from Kashmir division, , thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 135662. Also 01 COVID-19 death has been reported from Kashmir Division.
According to the official daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 135662 positive cases, 5623 are Active Positive, 128020 have recovered and 2019have died; 745 in Jammu division and 1274 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 6373912test results available, 6238250 samples have been tested as negative till 08thApril, 2021.
Till date 1575505 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 59857 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5623 in isolation and 124174in home surveillance. Besides, 1383832 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district wise details, the officials told GNS that Srinagar reported 349 cases, Baramulla 74, Budgam 24, Pulwama 8, Kupwara 31, Anantnag 22, Bandipora 18, Ganderbal 7, Kulgam 18, Shopian 4, Jammu 148, Udhampur 35, Rajouri 9, Doda 4, Kathua 20, Samba 8, Kishtwar 4, Poonch 3, Ramban 2and Reasi 47.
The bulletin again explained that early detection of COVID-19 can prevent the spread of disease so we need to be responsible for the well-being of ourselves and everyone around us. “Not disclosing symptoms could put life of individuals and their families at risk. In case of symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing report early. Do not fear, call COVID-19 helpline numbers and seek medical advice”.
Advisory has further exhorted upon the people not to step out of home, unless absolutely necessary. “If you have to move out for unavoidable reasons, ensure that you wear a mask and practice social distancing, personal hygiene and frequent hand washing with soap and water.”
