esidents of Amda Kadal, Gotpora, Lal Bazar Tuesday staged a protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Water Works Division as the whole area suffers from acute shortage of drinking water and many homes are even suffering from water connectivity due to unavailability of public water pipes for their homes.
The residents alleged that they are not receiving an adequate drinking water supply, resulting in inconvenience to them.
“We are not receiving proper water supply during the scheduled time kept by PHE department due to which we are not able to store it properly’” said Noor Mohammad , a local.
Scores of women told Good Morning Kashmir that they have been appraising the concerned department regarding the problem they are facing; however, they said their grievances are not taken seriously.

“We are facing numerous difficulties due to the non-availability of the drinking water in the area, nobody is ready to listen to us,” they said.
We approached senior officials of PHE Department but till date water supply has not been restored due to which we are facing huge hardships every day.
The residents demanded immediate attention and the intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for the restoration of the water supply in the area.
“We make an appeal to LG Manoj Sinha to look into the matter,” they said.
