raffic on 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu highway was disrupted for several hours today morning due to landslides near Ramban.
Official sources said that landslides and shooting of stones at Ramban, the most troubled spot on the Srinagar-Jammu highway, forced authorities to suspend the traffic in the morning.
However, NHAI, responsible for the maintenance of the highway, linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, put into service men and sophisticated machine to put through the traffic.

Hundreds of vehicles, including those carrying passengers for the Kashmir valley, left different parts of the Jammu today for Srinagar after green signal was received from concerned authorities.
“LMVs will be allowed only after 1200 hours to 1500 hours from Srinagar and Zig Qazigund between 1300 hrs to 1600 hrs to Jammu,” said a traffic official.
Only one-way traffic is allowed on the highway since to avoid any traffic jams or accident.
