Lashkar militant associate held in Awantipora: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested a militant associate and recovered explosive substance from his possession.

A police spokesman said, “Awantipora Police along with 42RR and 130Bn CRPF arrested one terrorist associate of proscribed outfit LeT. He has been identified as Aqif Ahmad Teli resident of Cherso Awantipora.”

As per police records, he was involved in providing shelter, logistic and other support to active militants, besides transporting arms & ammunition in Awantipora & Tral areas, said the spokesman.

“Incriminating material of proscribed outfit LeT and other explosive substance has been recovered from his possession,” police said.

All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation.

“In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 02/2021 under relevant section of law stands registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated,” Police added.
