LAWDA demolishes illegally raised structures in Srinagar

The Enforcement Wing of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) today conducted demolition operations in Friends colony Shalimar, Nigeen, Saderbal, Habak and Kohna Khan Dalgate (Western Foreshore Road).

During the demolition drive, one third storey, one garage, third storey/attic, one second storey and one tin shed raised illegally by the violators were demolished on the spot.

As per an official statement legal action in terms of lodging of FIR’s against the violators have also been taken wherever necessary.

Meanwhile, the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction and in lake are hereby directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions / encroachments, without obtaining proper building permission from the competent authority.

It was given out that strict action in terms of conducting demolitions followed by lodging of FIR’s shall be taken against violators who try to raise the constructions in the In-Lake / Green Belt areas.
