The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today emphasised the need to work with great dedication and leave no stone unturned to resolve public issues and grievances in a time bound manner.

During a meeting of district and sectoral officers, he said that the performance of each department shall be monitored regularly and low performing officials shall have to face action.

The DDC said that the purpose of convening this meeting is to further streamline the punctuality in Government offices so that the grievances of the people visiting there are redressed in time. He impressed upon the officers and other executing agencies to complete all ongoing developmental works within stipulated time so that people who have great expectations with the Government may not have to suffer.

The DDC fixed the deadline of March 3 to resolve all pending grievances registered on Lieutenant Governor Grievance Redressal Portal and upload action taken report on the portal. He said the LG’s administration is committed to bring transparency in functioning of various departments and hence any delay in resolving grievances registered shall not be tolerated.

He said people have to come to district administration for petty grievances only because field officials of various departments either do not respond to their genuine demands or misguide/misinform them. This callous attitude shall not be tolerated anymore and action shall be initiated against such officials, the DDC added.

He impressed upon officers to regularly monitor social media and timely respond to grievances raised on these platforms.

He directed SDM Zainapora to undertake extensive field visits, ensure employees attendance in the offices, listen to public grievances, hold awareness camps about various centrally sponsored schemes and inspect all ongoing developmental works for their timely completion.

Among others ADC Sheikh Abdul Aziz, CPO Khurshid Khatana, ACD Zubair Hussain Shah, SDM Zainapora Mushtaq Ahmad, Executive Engineers of various Engineering Departments, all district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
