The weatherman on Friday forecast erratic weather as intermittent rain with thunderstorm in plains and snow over higher reaches in Kashmir Valley is expected till March 15.
“Weather is going to remain erratic till March 15. Expect intermittent rain with thunderstorm and snow over higher reaches till 13th,” said a MeT official.
Earlier upper reaches of the Valley including Gulmarg received fresh snowfall while rains lashed plains.
A meteorological department official said, “Gulmarg received 45 centimeters fresh snowfall in last 24 hours till 0830 hours.

“In past 5 days, the famed tourist destination in north Kashmir received 105.1cm of snow. It recorded a minimum temperature of minus 4.0°C against minus 3.2°C on the previous night,” he said.
The official said that another WD, which originated from the Arabian Sea and is approaching the region though Afghanistan and Pakistan, will hit the region on Saturday evening.
“Under the influence of this WD, light rain and snow would occur at many places in the valley,” he added.
