Four militant associates arrested in north Kashmir

Police along with security forces on Monday claimed to have arrested an active militant and a militant associate in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

As per a police handout, the active militant Towfeeq Kaboo, son of Ghulam Rasool Kaboo resident of Kaboo Mohalla Arampora Sopore and the militant associate identified by the police as Bilal Ahmad Kaloo, son of Abdul Rahman Kaloo, resident of Takiabal Sopore, were apprehended by the police and security forcesin Ningli area of Sopore during a cordon and search operation by a joint team of Police, 52RR and 177Bn CRPF following a tip off.

The affiliation of the arrested men was not immediately known.

“During the search operation terrorist and his associate were challenged by the search party however they tried to escape from the spot but the alert search party apprehended them tactfully, ” police said.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up, it added.
