One of the militants killed today in gunfight in south Kashmir’s Pulwama had lost his brother in July 2013 in south Kashmir’s Dadsara area of Tral, the sibling was a militant too.

According to a report by news gathering agency KNT brother of one of the militants Umar Ali son of Ali Muhammad of Dadsara was also a militant who had been killed in July 2013 gunfight in Mandoora Tral.

Family sources said that Shahnawaz Mir was the first member in the family to get killed in a gunfight with Joint Forces and today his younger brother Umar Ali was also killed.

Earlier today at least three militants were killed and a civilian injured in a pre-dawn gunfight here in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.

Reports said that after receiving input about the presence of militants, a joint team of police, Army’s 55 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Tiken village of the district.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.

Zamir Sadiq Lone in whose house the militants were hiding also received gunshot injuries and was evacuated to hospital for the treatment of his injuries where his condition is stated to be stable, the news gathering agency reported.
