A militant, who was apprehended in an Injured condition during a brief gunfight in South Kashmir’s Anantnag on Thursday, succumbed to his injuries here in SMHS Hospital.
The police said the militant apprehended in an injured condition in Anantnag area during an anti-militancy operation yesterday succumbed today here in SMHS hospital.

A police spokesman earlier on Thursday said that an encounter started between militants and the security forces at Gund Baba Khaleel, Anantnag, in which a local militant was trapped.
“One local Hizbul Mujahideen militant Zaheer Abbas Lone, a resident of Pulwama, was later arrested in injured condition and shifted to hospital,” the police said on Thursday.
Meanwhile, The condition of the militant was earlier on Thursday stated to be “critical” by police.
