Setting an example of communal harmony, Muslims helped in performing last rites of a 30-year-old Kashmiri Pandit in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
According to the local residents, a 30 year old Kashmiri Pandit, Lokesh Bhat, a resident of Baramulla passed away on Sunday at his native place.
As Bhat’s death spread in the area, locals assembled at his house and later performed his last rites, the residents said.
Many people amid Covid-19 pandemic visited the home of the deceased to express condolences with the family.
Pertinently, it’s worth to mention here that in early 90s, Pandit community migrated from Kashmir to Jammu and other parts of the country.
A very small percentage of Kashmiri Pandits, however, stayed back and are living in Kashmir.
