In another example of communal harmony and brotherhood, the Muslim neighbors in north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Sunday helped perform the last rites of a elderly Kashmiri Pandit woman who passed away Saturday evening.

Pandit woman, Rani Kaul, wife of Moti Lal, breathed her last  in Tarhama village of Tangmarg in the late  Saturday night  plunging the village in mourning, eyewitnesses told Good Morning Kashmir.

After the news spread in the village, the local Muslims visited the family and expressed condolences with them.

As per the locals Rani Kaul died on Saturday night and was cremated on Sunday. Muslim neighbours perform her last rites as per Hindu rituals.

“She passed away on Saturday. The local Muslims visited the bereaved family one by one and expressed their condolences,” Zubair Ahmad, a local told Good Morning Kashmir.

He said that people from all walks of life participated in the last rites of the deceased Pandit community member.
