The residents of various areas of north Kashmir Pattan town Tuesday complained about the dearth of proper transport on several link routes, which they said causes inconvenience to them.
The residents from Nehalpora, Warpora, Batpora, Chukar, Guiwah, Shouch-Palpora, Wailoo, Check Sari and other adjacent parts complained about the transport dearth.
The residents complained that they have to wait for hours to avail public transport. “Everyone does not have a personal vehicle and due to lack of public transport, we are forced to board sumos which charge exorbitantly,” they said.

Locals said that they have been arriving home late for the last two months due to unavailability of transport. “Public transport disappears here after 5 pm, causing trouble for the people. The administration must look into this issue because not everyone has their own car,” residents of these areas said. They added that public transport is not often available in the evening hours and they have seen how anxious people are here during that time.
A shopkeeper from Nihalpora told Good Morning Kashmir that traveling back to his home from his shop is getting difficult during the evening. “The cabs are becoming expensive. We sometimes don’t do any sales on a day and yet we have to travel from different areas to be at the shop,” he said.
Meanwhile, the commuters appealed to the higher authorities to look into the matter so that they could heave a sigh of relief. However, an official from the district administration
assured that he will look into the matter.
