otably’ in Kashmir girls are shining than boys whether in competative exams, board exams or any art. With same pace, a 23-year-old girl from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has received Sher-e-Kashmir sports award for her performance in skiing.
A 23-year-old, Sabiya, hailing from Qazipora village of the district won the award in snow ski for her outstanding performance.
“I’m happy for winning this award, and thank worthy to my parents for their support in passion of adventuring,” Sabiya said.
According to Sabiya, she has participated in numerous ski competitions and has acquired many medals.
“I have won two gold medals in Salalom and Khelo india events, and one bronze medal,” she said.
In 2018, Sabiya has also participated in 27th “Asian Alpine Championship” which was held in Iran.
Sabiya urges parents to give wholly support to dreams of their childrens. “Let them make their own choices, develop autonomy,” she said.
