ohd Iqbal Bhat, 25, an artist from Buran village in Baramulla district says the reason behind his creative hand is love for designs.
A self-taught artist, Bhat developed his interest in art when he was a kid.
Bhat, who is pursuing Post-graduation in History, is a self taught canvas paper Landscape painting artist’ whose art had keep hidden since past 15 years.
Despite no formal training for painting, Iqbal has emerged as a creative artist with his art works inspired by iconic artists.
“I had an interest in art of painting since early of my childhood, i was drawing sketch of flowers, animals and plants on notebook, untill now i attach with the passion of painting and will remain forever”, said Iqbal Bhat.
“Earlier, i was drawing realistic portraits, but i quit because drawing potrait of any human is prohibited in islam, so i am drawing only landscape paintings on canvas,” he said.
Everyone in this world is unique and God gifted with different talents, abilities and capabilities, but many people even never give a second thought to their hidden talent.
Islamic paintings has always fascinated me but being a history student didn’t get enough time for this but this pandemic came as both boon and bane and I realise that I’m blessed with this art, then I started my journey in call during lockdown, said Iqbal.
Iqbal While exclusively talking with Good Morning Kashmir said, “I am thankful to my Parents who supported me in in my journey.
“I feel peace when i wrote Allah’s name and quran verses in paintings and i want to work on old Kashmiri Tradition in the field of art,” he said.
I have participated in couple of Painting competitions held across the Valley, but due to financial trouble my art reside behind walls.
Iqbal has drawn a breathtaking sketch of Kaaba on canvas board, which has taken him one week to get complete. “Hidden talent in valley needs to be encouraged and Govt, should provide platform for talented youths in their field,” he said.
Govt should also take initiative to implement skill development subjects in schools, which will help students to achieve their goals.
“Those who are interested in painting i will help them to hone their skill in art of painting”, he added
