Pakistan, Bangladesh discussed Kashmir, India says China had a role

New Delhi: After Pak PM’s phone call to his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina in which the duo reportedly expressed concerns about Jammu and Kashmir. While as, in India there are concerns that China may have had a role in the phone call.

Officials familiar with the Dhaka-Islamabad ties said this was the first time since Khan came to power last year that he had such talks with Hasina.

After the phone call, the statements have emerged from the duo countries.

Pakistan’s statement said that Khan “shared Pakistan’s perspective” on Kashmir and “stressed the importance of peaceful resolution”.

However, the statement issued by Dhaka did not mention Kashmir, saying that the duo leaders discussed the Covid crisis.

On the other hand, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said, ” We appreciate Bangladesh’s consistent stand that Jammu and Kashmir and all its developments are India’s internal matters. It’s a stand they have always taken.”
