Srinagar: A 20-year old boy from south Kashmir’s Kulgam district had suffered pellet injury in his eye after which he was moved to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.

Local news gathering agency KNS reported that, Arif Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Rather of Arreh Kulgam suffered pellet injury during clashes that erupted on Sunday after an encounter culminated with the killing of two militants.

It said the youth suffered pellet injury in his right eye on Saturday late night and was shifted to local medical heath centre where from he was shifted to SMHS hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile hospital sources told pelleted youth is under observation and is stable.
Locals said that Arif was on way to his home when pellets hit him which injured his right eye.
Reports added that post-encounter clashes left many youth injured in the area. “Government forces fired tear-smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesting youth after the encounter in Arreh Kulgam was underway”, reports said.

The encounter which broke out in the area on Saturday had left two militants dead while three soldiers including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) sustained injuries.
