nhabitants of Nowshera area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district Tuesday complained that the village was reeling under acute water shortage for the past two years.
According to the locals, this was the worst bout of water scarcity that the area was facing from the last two years.
“It is for the first time we are witnessing such a crisis,” Mohammad Shafi of Nowshera exclaimed.
“Whatever the reason for the shortage, the concerned department should have made arrangements for supplying drinking water through tankers but they don’t seem to be concerned,” he said.

The locals once again appealed to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to look into the matter and solve the problem at an earliest.
