tudents are facing difficulties in attending online classes due to the lack of network connectivity in Dadaompora – Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, institutions across the country suspended academic activities. While the Authorities have directed the educational institutions to take up virtual or online education.
However, students from the area told Good Morning Kashmir that they had to walk 2 to 3 km to find a mobile signal for online studies.
“In our village, basic communication facilities are not available and villagers have to walk down to get signal on their phones,” said Arif Ahmad, a student of Class 8.
Residents said that Non-availability of network connections puts students from this village at a disadvantage since they have to depend on data plans on mobile phones, which is simply not available in the village for the last 5 years.
Meanwhile, the locals have urged the authorities to strengthen telecommunication services in the village so that their students will not suffer more.
