he dilapidated condition of Panzan- Ichkoot road in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district has left the commuters anguished, who have appealed the concerned department to fulfill their demands at an earliest.
Sources said the residents of the area said that these roads are in dilapidated conditions as the stretch has never been repaired.
“We took to the streets a number of times to press for our demands but all in vain as the concerned failed to take any step in this regard,” the locals said, adding that they also approached the concerned authorities several times in the past but no steps were taken to redress their demands.
They said the said road starts from Panzan and passes through the Gorimohalla, Chitroo Dangerpora and Ichkoot and connects with Doodpathri Budgam road at Ichgam.
The angry Residents said that, before three years R&B department started the macadamization of the road from Ichkoot, however they stopped the work only after completing the one kilometre which according to locals was again macadamized but left these villages in the name of God, they added
“Locals apprised R&B department about the bad condition of these roads but they did nothing,” they said.
“The said road have turned into a lane on which a single vehicles hardly pass now,”
The locals later appealed the concerned authorities to take steps to macadamize the roads so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
