otwithstanding continuous heavy snowfall, Power Development Department (PDD) maintenance wing deserves appreciation keeping uninterrupted power supply.
People from Valley in general and Srinagar city in particular have hailed officers and ground staff of PDD for their efforts to give power supply despite heavy snowfall.
“The efficient and honest work by SE PDD Hilal Ahmad and his officials and ground staff for their efforts in keeping power supply, ” Said residents of Downtown areas from Lalbazar and Adjoining localities.
“Hats off to Chief engineer PDD and other ground level staff who are managing to rectify the faults in these extreme condition of weather and keeping uninterrupted power supply in City,” said Ishtiyaq Ahmad, a resident of Abi Guzar.
Officials in the department said that the whole staff on directions of Chief engineer is prepared and keeping a close vigil on faults.

“Earlier, On Sunday, we were supplying an estimated 95 percent of the power supply, which on Monday morning had dipped to around 50 percent due to snags in many 11-KV and 33-KV feeders across the Kashmir region,” said a senior official of the department. Adding that, due to strenuous efforts of our staff, we had restored all feeders across the Kashmir division and only few are under repairs.”
Officials said that warnings were being taken seriously and ground staff was kept ready to deal with eventualities.
He said that the whole PDD staff had geared up for winter and any issue arising in connection with electric supply had been set a deadline for restoration.
