ammu and Kashmir police have ordered a high level inquiry to find out possible security lapse and dereliction of duty by police constable at Police Complex Tral in South Kashmir that first led to weapon snatching and then killing of a Hizbul Mujahideen militant.

The main responsible person (police constable) has sustained injuries and is being treated at a Srinagar hospital,” a senior police officer told KNO. “The injured policeman will also be quizzed as to how Malik snatched riffle from him.”
He said that the inquiry team will be headed by a senior officer that would look into how the arrested militant Amin Malik managed to snatch the weapon of police constable Amjad Khan.
The inquiry, the officer said, will be completed within 15 days and guilty will be brought to book. Pertinently, police had arrested Muhammad Amin Malik of Nagbal, Machhama, Tral on May 30 along with explosives and other IED material besides some ammunition.
