A MeT official told Good Morning Kashmir that the temperature on Friday was six notches above normal. It said a strong western disturbance (WD) over the region brought down temperature as light to moderate rains lashed parts of Kashmir.
In summer capital, Srinagar the maximum temperature on Friday was 34 degree. However, it was 0.7 degree less than Thursday. The minimum temperature was 19.8 degree, 5.5 degree above normal, he said. Adding that they are expecting light rains, thunderstorms in the next four-five days across Valley.

There was some improvement in the weather at Gulmarg in north Kashmir, where the maximum temperature was 23.5 degree against yesterdays 25.5 degree though the minimum temperature recorded 16 degree against yesterdays 13.6 which was 4.8 degree above normal.
The maximum and minimum temperature at Pahalgam in south Kashmir was 30 degree (6.1 degree above normal) and 11.3 degree (3.1 degree above normal) respectively.
Qazigund, gateway of Kashmir on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the maximum temperature was 33.3 degree, 6.5 degree above normal while Kokernag recorded 32.3 degree, 6.4 notches above normal while the minimum temperature was 17.8 degree which was 5.7 notches above normal.
Kupwara in north Kashmir the maximum temperature was 34.5 degree, 6.3 degree above normal while the minimum temperature was 16 degree which was 3.4 degree above normal.
